Retro 2022 is a mesmerising event conducted at Nagarjuna College of Management Studies, a college affiliated with Bengaluru North University. This is an occasion to relive the memories of the golden era, the era that was rich in art, music, and culture. Also, it was the developmental era of our very own country. This event was organised to commemorate as well as celebrate life from the 1960s to the 1980s.
Retro 2022 began with a vibe of excitement and enthusiasm. Here, the event was graced by Smt. Girija Lokesh who is an Indian theatre and film actress and producer. She was felicitated and honoured for her incredible contribution to the film industry. And it was a pleasure to have such an admiring personality amidst the celebration of one of the glorious times of the past.
The vibe of Retro 2022 transcended into something magical and enchanting as it progressed. Students beautifully represented the trends of the earlier generation. Also, they were excited about the programmes that lay ahead in the event. As the programme progressed further, the phenomenal performances were unveiled.
Firstly, the ramp walk caught the attention of the audience. The students and professors dressed in the 60s and 80s style participated in the event joyfully. After disclosing the fashion trends of that era, the event progressed toward cultural performances, which included singing and dancing to old melodic tunes and disco beats. It brought back memories and left everyone with a feeling of nostalgia. The other programme that added flavour to the event was mimicking. The talented students of NCMS mimicked some of the era’s stupendous Bollywood and Sandalwood artists.
The event concluded with a valedictory ceremony and a vote of thanks. Everyone enjoyed the Retro 2022 event and cherished the memories of past while recreating them in the present.
